After a long post-earthquake hiatus, it seems like regular service has resumed at the Japan Exposures blog. They’re back with a gallery of Shintaro Sato’s new work on Tokyo Sky Tree. I’m hoping that this is not just a flash in the pan!
That’s a good question. When you ask where I’d like to critique “from,” I think of a position, or platform. I guess I wouldn’t think of it so much in terms of web vs. print, and more in terms of audience. I am not interested in writing regularly for an audience of photography specialists, so that would probably rule out a lot of small-run print magazines. (There are similarly inaccessible publications online.) I am comfortable writing online, but of course I like print. I will follow the audience.
You on the other hand are on fire lately =)
With regards to what you wrote below about blogging, you’re very right that it shouldn’t be approached as a means to generate income but as a gateway into other areas, web related or not. There are sites out there that are structured like blogs that could provide a living for a person, but generally in these cases these site’s core function is different than a simple blog despite it being under the guise of one. I’d be interested to know where you’d rather be critiquing from. Are you comfortable working through the web or are you more interested in other areas of application?
