Photography exhibitions in Tokyo

I spent the past month in America, which helps to explain the silence on this blog. I’m back in Tokyo now, and there is a host of good-looking photo shows up over the next month.

  • Shinya Arimoto, “ariphoto2012 vol.3” at Totem Pole Photo Gallery 2. Until 9/9.
  • Taiji Matsue, “jp0205” at Taro Nasu 3. Until 9/21.
  • Tokyo Art Book Fair 4. 9/21 – 9/23.
  • Koji Enokura, “Documentation” at Taka Ishii 5. Until 9/29.
  • Aya Fujioka, “Saudade” at Akaaka 6. Until 9/29.
  • Utsu Yumiko, “Rose Window” at G/P 7. Until 9/30.
  • Thomas Orand, “Neighborhood” at Fujimi Bakery 8. Higashi-Koenji Station. Until sometime in October.

At Rathole you can pick up a DVD of the 3000 image/4 hour (or is it 4000 images over 3 hours?) video installation of the sky above Araki’s balcony -limited to an edition of THREE- for a mere 2,100,000 yen per disc.

I personally would prefer one of the screen prints of a painting of his wife which are hung in the smaller gallery to the side.
