From November 1 to November 27, Gallery Tosei ¹ in Nakano will hold an exhibit of photographs by Kathryn Abbe, “Light and Shadow.”

As you may have guessed, Kathryn Abbe ² is my grandma; she worked as a professional photographer over many years, and has held exhibitions of her work before. At age 94 (!) this is her first exhibit in Asia.

What can I say about this? I never would have expected that something like this would happen. even though I’ve found myself saying that many times over the last five years. It doesn’t even feel real yet, but I am sure that it will be an emotional experience for me. Perhaps I’ll see you at Tosei-sha.
